Getting to know you….Greg Butler-Davis, A+T in Palma!

Since the beginning of this year, A+T Instruments have had Greg Butler-Davis working for them in Palma. Greg brings with him a wealth of knowledge, great contacts and dependability to the A+T team. Read on to know more about him & how to arrange a meeting.

What’s your role & where are you based? My role is Sales Executive for A+T Instruments. I am based in Palma de Mallorca and working with A+T all around the Mediterranean coast.

How long have you been sailing? I started sailing as a youngster in dinghies, summer holidays mostly in the lake district and west coast of Scotland and started sailing professionally when I was 19. My first paid sailing was as a deckhand on a 92 foot Royal Huisman in 1988/89.

What’s best sailing memory or achievement? Sailing SY Adela, in the early morning, into the lagoon at Bora Bora after a long passage from San Diego.., I can close my eyes and I’m there, what a spectacular landfall…..and getting a fried egg sandwich from the skipper of the same yacht for diving under the boat at night, mid-Atlantic, to remove a warp from around the prop. At the other end of the spectrum, being build captain and running a 56metre Perini Navi yacht for a good few years was the realisation of all my professional goals at the time.

What’s your background? My background is a lifelong career in professional yachting, crewing and skippering large sailing yachts. In recent years i have gone shore-based and worked in a variety of sales and management roles in the yachting sector.

What’s your favourite regatta? For me it’s as much about the social, as it is the sailing, so the St Barths Bucket is a great chance to catch up with mates from all over the world…, while enjoying champagne sailing.  As a regatta/race, the Caribbean 600 is my favourite.

How can people get in touch or come to meet you? My phone is the best way to reach me, +34 663-855076, call or Whatsapp. By email on: greg@aandtinstruments.com

I will be at MYS 22, METS 22, FLIBS 22 and Antigua Charter Show. When I’m not travelling, I can be found in my office in STP most days. I can also be found at major international sailing events Maxi Rolex Cup, Swan Rolex Cup and Les Voiles de St Tropez .
